Ashamed Of Myself

I am using my blog to ease my conscious. Yesterday evening after I had been visiting Adam & Suzy at Roma Street Parklands, I was driving home and at the first corner near the Parklands, there was a man begging for help, he was in a really bad way, he had blood streaming down his face. It was dark; I was frightened, so I did not stop. I drove another half a block and rang to police to get help for him. Then I heard this on the radio this morning……
Man assaulted, Roma Street Forum: Police are investigating the assault of a 26-year-old man at the Roma Street Forum in the City last night. It is believed five men approached the man shortly after 6pm and demanded his wallet and mobile phone. When the man refused, the offenders punched him repeatedly in the face and body before leaving in an unknown direction. The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital suffering a black eye, swollen face and bruised ribs. The offenders are described as Caucasian with a fair complexion.

I am not very proud of myself I should have stopped

I think you did the right thing - your safety comes first. You called the police - that is really all you could have done. Please dont beat yourself up about this.

I agree, Sandra. You couldn't have known what happened and with the things that happen these days, you just couldn't take the chance. You did call and many wouldn't have even bothered to do that. I agree, don't beat yourself up about it.

Oh Sandra, what a dreadful thing to happen to him, and to you. You did the right thing, though, because those guys could still have been around and you might have ended up a victim too. Good on you for ringing ... hoping you're feeling better! :)
