Catching Up
I have fallen behind on my entries, a lot has happened since my last blog. The most exciting news is that I have become a member of the Element Team on Digichick. It is a great site with plenty going on, the work that is in the galleries is first class and the shop sells the most beautiful things. I am not really sure what my duties will be but I am looking forward to starting.
The new colour challenge for the next two weeks is up at Digiscrapdivas and there is the link to the paper pack that is available to download on the same page.

I have created a layout with the papers. I love these colours.

The photo was taken at the Koala Sanctuary, we went on Saturday morning with Pattie and Paul and their two grand-daughters. It was such a lovely morning, the girls were excited and anxious to see everything. Our Olivia was curious and questioning abour lots of things, you can see her mind ticking over, she was well-behaved and enjoyed every moment of it. Is was also great to get to know Isabella, she is a very beautiful little girl, who is kind and caring to her younger cousins. It is one of the most wonderful things in the world being a grandparent.
The day before I had my two sisters visit for the day. It was wonderful, having lived down south most of my life, I have not had a lot of time with them. It was just great to sit around the kitchen table and talk. I do love them both very much and look forward to having more time with them.

I have been tagged
I've been tagged by Suzy, it happen a few days ago and I have been thinking about five little quirks about myself:
1. I am almost nocturnal, I love going to bed early and getting up really early. It is 4.20am now as I am typing this; of course this means that I often need an afternoon nap.
2. I get a lot of joy out of sketching and have taken to carrying a sketch book and pens around in my handbag.
3. I am a baker’s daughter and hence bread is a very big part of my diet. I love buying unusual breads and there is nothing better than fresh bread for a sandwich. As a child I used to wake up to warm, fresh bread every morning that dad had bought home from the bakehouse.
4. I love ABC radio and often can’t do something in the house (like vacuuming) as it might make a noise and I will miss out on part of the show.
5. I once won first prize in the lottery, it was a couple of million prize money but I had to share it with lots of other first prize winners and I ended up with $8600. In my head that I spend it stacks of time before I actually got around to spending it.
That was fun Suzy, I will now tag Emily.

Another scraplift
I love scraplifts, so I did the one on Digi-Chick. It was to scraplift one of Andrea Taddicken {amtad} layouts. She has really lovely layouts, so it was easy to pick one. Here is my effort; I have used the papers from my new autumn paper pack that I created……

Ashamed Of Myself
I am using my blog to ease my conscious. Yesterday evening after I had been visiting Adam & Suzy at Roma Street Parklands, I was driving home and at the first corner near the Parklands, there was a man begging for help, he was in a really bad way, he had blood streaming down his face. It was dark; I was frightened, so I did not stop. I drove another half a block and rang to police to get help for him. Then I heard this on the radio this morning……
Man assaulted, Roma Street Forum: Police are investigating the assault of a 26-year-old man at the Roma Street Forum in the City last night. It is believed five men approached the man shortly after 6pm and demanded his wallet and mobile phone. When the man refused, the offenders punched him repeatedly in the face and body before leaving in an unknown direction. The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital suffering a black eye, swollen face and bruised ribs. The offenders are described as Caucasian with a fair complexion.
I am not very proud of myself I should have stopped

Monday morning
Up early to take Graham to the airport, these 4.30am starts make me tired; hopefully I will get a nap this afternoon. A good thing about it was that it gave me time to scrap this morning. I finished this lovely layout of Abby.

I need to do some housework today but I really feel like designing, maybe tomorrow or tonight.

Sunday morning
I had a go at using my new paper pack papers, to see what they were like and also so I could post the layout to advertise the challenge. I am not sure that my wording was OK on each of the places that I posted it. It could maybe be seen as blatant adverting; I am not sure when it is too much.I suppose the site will let me know when I am out of line. Anyway here is the layout…….

The other paper pack that I made for the colour challenge, I was wondering if I should offer it as a freebie? I wonder if people would like it?

Thursday morning
Up early to take Graham to airport, he is off to our beloved city of Canberra today. There will be a huge drop in temperature, as it is still very cold down there. I am glad that he is going early though as there will be a traffic jam out the airport later today as a new outlet shopping centre is opening. It has turned into the norm that the airport corporation have turned into entrepreneurs and are allowed to develop airport land and build shopping centres, office space etc. on it; it tends to make for congestion.
Below is a photo of Jessie in her school uniform. She is slowing settling into her new school, it takes time and there ups and downs. She is enjoying the level of work and is finding it stimulating and challenging. The teachers and girls are friendly but she has not found her group yet, it will take time.

Tuesday Morning
Up early to take Graham to the airport again but at least this morning it was light, it is usually pitch black. We had to use Suzy's hire car, as our one is in the garage. I had a very dicey drive to the shop yesterday morning, as I was driving down the hill I found the brakes were only at 10% capacity...it was very scary. Something had broken on the brakes and the garage had to order the parts from Sydney.
Suzy and the two girls are staying with us until they move into their new home on Wednesday. It has been great to get to know the girls again; and Suzy and I have been talking scrapbooking every chance we get. We are both very excited as the mega kit called ‘New Beginnings’ is coming out today or tomorrow; we have been a part of designing that kit. It is at http://www.digiscrapdivas.com/

This is my first layout done with the kit……..

Hurricane Kit

It is sad to watch the photos of the hurricane that hit the gulf states. It is like watching the Tsunami unfold again. Like then I feel hopeless and wish that I could do something. So I have become involved in making a kit to raise money for the red cross. Thank you Suzy for organising it. The kit should be ready early next week on

Here is my paper pack and elements. I am not sure on the bottom set. What do you think?
