House Hunting

House hunting was successful in a way, we saw the sustainable house that has been build at Seventeen Miles Rocks and were very impressed by it. It would be magic to live in it. We have always dreamed about have an environmentally friendly home. I began collecting books on the subject 20 odd years ago. So our dream would be to build one, the only problems are that we have no where to live in a few weeks and that to buy land in Brisbane you have to live a fair way out of town. Anyway it is few things to think over the next few days.

Things are happening in the scrapping world, designers are on the move, new places are opening up. July the 1st promises to be an exciting day.

A gift

Penny has been let out of hospital, she is on the mend but going by Sarah having it a few years ago, you take a long time to recover. Thank you for your well wishes and prayers. Now where does she go from here....is it dangerous to get it again? What are the risks?

We are off house-looking again this morning, I have my list ready. Fingers crossed for us.

Hooray

Just watched the soccer, we are into the SECOND ROUND. It was such a tense game, did that player really receive three yellow cards and then a red one. I ‘m so proud of them, we have such a great team.

I’m still house hunting, I found a really lovely house this week, far too small for us but we have decided that we would buy it and then extend it later. BUT then we have checked into bridging finance and I think that we should put house-hunting on hold until we sell our property in Sydney. So we are really in no-man land at the moment.

Pen has got her second dose of DENGUE Fever, I try not to worry, as she is in hospital and has excellent care but you know that that is impossible. Please keep her in your prayers.

I have a new kit in the shoppe, called ‘Blushing Baby’, name and colors come from Manda. Thank you Manda. I will leave a preview and two lovely layouts at the end.........So much is happening at Sweet Shoppe Designs, our new designers have come on board and they have already done their part for the Quarterly Sampler Kit that is released on the 1st of July. It is going to be really lovely and such great value.

House Hunting

I'm house hunting in a major way; I spend hours on the net looking at agent's sites and then contacting them to follow up on some house that captures my eye. WE could rent again but the rental market is in a real sump, shortage of houses and what houses that are out there have very high rents.

I have found one or two houses that I’m really interested in and one that we go back for our third visit again on Wednesday, It is just the location….it is in another suburb and I love living here. We could build and I love the idea of a sustainable house but the cost of land is very high and all the blocks that I have seen are on the side of steep hills.

Anyway enough of the house woes. I wish to share with you the exciting news from the Sweet Shoppe Designs, we have taken on five new designers and their work is different and lovely. I’m really looking forward to seeing their new kits for the shop. They are going to be adding to the Sweet Assortment that is coming out at the beginning of July. It will have a mini kit from each of the designers and it will only cost $2.49. Great value!

I finished the elements

Sometimes I get carried away when I'm creating the elements and I think that this is one of the times. I try to make things that are a little different and I love being challenged with a problem. I would love any suggestions of things that you would like to see in a kit.
Anyway I will let you judge.

Thank you

Thank you for your suggestions for a name, I decided to go with Victoria's name......'Mulberry Memories', it is such a lovely name.

When I finish doing the elements I will send it to you Victoria.

It is actually raining in Brisbane, I should take some photos, and everything is so brown and burnt off. Our tropical paradise isn't looking like that at the moment.

We spent the morning and part of the afternoon looking at houses, nothing really to write about. I had found one during the week that I really liked but when I took the family through this morning, they did not fall in love with it. So I suppose that I will keep looking. I have a few to look at next week, they are further out from the city and that makes them cheaper…..which is good.

Name of Kit

I was going to call the kit 'rhubard and cream' but not a lot of cream got into the kit, so if you can come up with a name you will get the kit as a reward for being so clever.

What a week!

Have not really achieved anything much this week; Jess is in the middle of exams, so you can imagine the stress-level is extremely high. Her study time has been short as all the teachers seem to pile the assignments on in the last couple of weeks, so she has been trying to get those finished as well. One more tomorrow and the last one is next Tuesday, then the wind down to holidays.

Have you seen Manda Bean’s new look blog; I would love mine to look like that. She is also running a weekly challenge on her blog that looks like fun. It looks like I will have to fiddle with my blog again, change the look of it. Sharon this time I will save it before I start playing.

I read Michelle Coleman’s blog this morning and totally identify with what she was saying. It is hard for me to focus on numerous things; I wake up in the morning with ideas running around in my head that I want to try out. This week has been like that, so you can imagine how the house looks, ahh well the weekend is coming maybe I can catch up then. Though we do have to go house-hunting at the weekend, as we have to find a new place to live, our landlord wants to sell the house (he would love to sell it to us).

Here are the colours of my new kit...coming soon.

Remember there is one more day on my sale.

Blinkie

You would not believe the day that I have had, spend two hours last night designing a blinkie and then fell asleep on the lounge. Graham closed down the computer without saving anything. Then this morning I decided to have another go at making one, another few hours and then Photoshop went all funny and shut itself down. So now I have made another but I have kept it simple this time.

Now I will have a go at making a larger one. Fingers crossed for me.
